Janessa Johnsrude
Marketing & Development Coordinator

Janessa Johnsrude recently joined the staff as marketing and development director after completing her MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre at Dell'Arte International. She is a Canadian born artist from Saskatchewan (BFA University of Saskatchewan). Janessa learned about the Professional Training Program while studying mask and shadow puppetry in Bali through Dell'Arte's Bali Abroad Program. As a performer, Janessa has worked with the Dell'Arte company in "The Comedy of Errors", "Mary Jane the Musical" and "The Fish in My Head". With a penchant for mask, transformative character, and ensemble creation, Janessa's growing body of work envelops poetic, physical dimensions of storytelling and showcases the unabashedly absurd. Her company, "Necessiteeth The Ultimate Mouth Masks", makes custom crafted character teeth for performers. She is also a founding member of international physical performing ensemble Mothership and has worked with Madball Co. (formerly known as Rangeely Theater Ensemble from Bombay, India), The Dell'Arte Company (U.S.A), CAOS (Calgary Animated Objects Society) (AB), Ground Cover Theatre (SK), Wide Open (SK), Theatre Ecstasis (SK), and Llewelyn Productions (SK).
