Your application must include

  • Resume
  • Recent photo
  • A brief Statement of Purpose (no more than one page) letting us know why you would like to join the program and what you hope to gain from participation. 
  • A brief outline of your travel experience including locations; duration of travel; whether your travel was organized through a travel agent or tour group; whether you travel alone, with family, with friends. *
  • Please indicate your preferred study focus: Mask Carving or Shadow Puppetry
  • 3 Reference contacts (with both phone & email) for teachers, colleagues, or directors we may contact *
  • Country of Citizenship
  • Date of Birth
  • Passport ID number, expiration date and your name exactly as it appears on your passport
  • City from which you would like to depart
  • Single or double room preference 
  • $25 non-refundable application fee

* Dell’Arte PTP and MFA graduates do not need to include travel experience or reference contact info.

Students will be notified of acceptance within 2 weeks of your application, unless we are unable to reach your reference contacts within that time. If the program is full, you will be notified that you have been placed on a waiting list. If the program is not fully enrolled by the application deadline, we will continue to accept applications until it is full.

Following acceptance to the Bali Program, you will be mailed a short confidential medical questionnaire including emergency contact info.  This protects you in case there is a condition or meds that we need to know about if there are any emergencies in Bali. This will be sent to you along with a liability waiver and must be returned before the start of the trip.

When notified of your acceptance, you'll need to reserve your place in the Bali Program by forwarding a $500 deposit. Credit cards, Paypal, and checks are all good. You can call Dharla at 668-5663 to use a credit card over the phone if you wish. We must have this deposit in order to reserve your airline ticket and hotel space.

A payment of $1500 is due the week September 15th, 2014

A final payment of the full remaining balance is due November 1, 2014.

All deposits, tuition and fees, less the $25 application processing fee and a $100 cancellation fee, are refundable until 65 days before the start of the trip.

No refunds after the first day of travel except in the event of a medical emergency where the participant must leave the trip.
